What All You Need to Know about Net Metering

Producing the renewable sun energy that is environmentally sound becomes the best decision for people for both commercial and residential needs. But the main thing that form problem for user is what they use in cloudy days, night and winters. Net Metering is the most effective and highly useful solution of this problem that enables to use the energy throughout the year without paying extra charges.

What isNet Metering?

Implemented by numbers of people, this solar energy system is a great policy that enables private people to benefit a lot from self-power generation that works in combination with electric utilities. The process by which energy generated from sun is fed into the grid from residential as well as commercial solar electricity systems. It can be defined as the special metering and billing arrangement between the user and the utility company. You can use the generated electricity first avoiding the situation of buying it.

How it Works?

If in a day, you produce more electricity using the solar energy generating system than what actually yourresidential or business needs, the excess amount will automatically go into the utility grid through electric meter to be feed to other consumers. This electricity is then allowed to run backward via electric meter and out into the grid. During this process, the meter runs on backward direction. Producing the surplus electricity puts it again into the electric grid.

What are its Benefits?

The biggest advantage of this system is to utilize every watt of energy generated by individual solar electricity producing system in any way either immediately or from energy already saved in their utility bank. This may result into zero bills at the month end. Another advantage is that a customer needsno expensive battery bank.

Net metering allows user to produce own clean renewable energy (solar electricity) with long lasting components without hassles of maintenance.
